Student Of the Month Story

Who- John Smith
What- Won the Student of the Month Award
When- This past week
Where- At Bowie High school
Why- Because of his good grades and positive contributions to the community
How- He was notified by the principal and was then was on the announcements.
Lead
         Freshman John Smith received Bowie's first "Student of the Month" award for positive influence on Wednesday.  Smith, who transferred to owie just two months ago has made a large impact on his fellow classmates and teachers. The office decided to begin this award to encourage stellar student behavior.
Nut Graf
Smith, a freshman, is the first winner of the new student of the month award. The award recognises the student with the most positive impact at Bowie in the last month. The fact of Smith being new this year is important in showing that it will be possible for any student to win the award.
Body
New year student John Smith was recently awarded Bowie's Student of the Month Award.
"John was chosen because this past month his grades have been exceptional, and his nonstop work with Bowie Buddies has impacted our Bowie community in a great way," Principal Susan Leos.

Smith is involved in many different activities at Bowie. "John has been the best president i could have asked for, especially for a freshman," Elizabeth Rogers, Key Club sponsor and teacher. Smith is also heavily involved in Soccer where he led his freshman JVB team to a district championship.
 Conclucion 
A new student will be chosen as the "student of the month" at the end of every month. The winner of the award is chosen by a panel of teachers and administrators from all the grades. The head of the panel principal, Susan Leos.
