Portraits Part 1

1. Looking on/off the camera.
2.  Mae them candid.
3. Hold your camera at an angle

Environmental Portraits
I like this picture because 1, it is basketball and i like basketball, and 2, because the framing of the hoop makes the picture look cool.
I like this picture because i play instruments , so they appeal to me and the repetition of the guitars looks cool.

Photography Self Portrait
I like this picture because of how simple it is.
I like this picture because it looks cool how part of him is black and white and the other part is in color.

Casual Portraits
I like this picture because the baby is cute and it is very colorful.
I like this picture because the man is looking off camera and it let the viewer imagine what he is looking at.  And it uses rule of thirds to create an open frame.

I would want to shoot my portrait on a soccer field. I would want the picture to be taken from ground level so that they could see m cleats and the ball and such. I would want this because i am a soccer player and it characterizes who i am as a person.

Great Black and white Photographers Part lll

1. All of his photos are full of contrasts and contradictions. They have people together who you wouldn't expect be together or people doing things you wouldn't expect them to do.

2. I see the long pointing arrows coming right towards me .
I smell the moister in the freshly cut green grass.
I hear the shouts of the archery coach telling them where to aim.
I taste victory, from the gold meal won at the competition.
I feel amazed at the talent of the archers.

I see dolphins jumping in the water below.
I smell salt in the air from the ocean.
I hear the horn of the ship blowing telling others to steer clear.
I taste exotic fish that i can see in the blue water.
I feel the strong ocean breeze rushing through my hair.

3. I would like to create a power point to showcase my photographer.

Africa and Abandon Theme Parks

Africa

1. This is a pretty cool story. I can relate to it because i've always wanted to go on a safari in Africa so it was pretty interesting to see some of the sights you might see there. The photos on the other hand were amazing. I didn't even think about the rules he used because they all just seemed naturally beautiful.
2.
3.  This is a picture of an elephant drinking water. I like it because of its simplicity. It creates an almost unreal scene, being that close.
4. This photo uses lines with the trunk leading to the head of the elephant. It also uses simplicity with almost nothing in the background.
5. He uses a Pentax 67ll with only 2 fixed lenses. These lenses are important because it means that he has to get closer to the subject for it to look good.
6. He wants to take the photos so that he can capture them in their natural habitat before they lose their homes.
7. He hopes that when people will see these that they will want to preserve their homes and stop what is causing them to lose it.
8. Nick Brandt on the problems causing animal to loe their homes in Africa- Where to begin? Every year, every month, the problems seem to grow ever greater, ever more complex and ever more intertwined with one another. Between population pressure, global warming, deforestation and poaching, the destruction is massive and escalating."

Abandon Theme Parks

1. I would want to go to Prypait, Ukraine the most not really because it looked cool r creepy but because of the history there. I would really go there to look at it for a little, but I'd be most interested in the rest of the town and seeing all the other abandon things. It just seems likes one of the few places in the world where things were just dropped and left for nature to take.
2.
3. Volcanos, abandon castles, old trains, old factories, old airports
4.
5. I would like to go shoot there because I've always liked trains. I also really like old things so it would be a good mix of both. I'd like to find out the history of the train and see if anything significant happened on it. I'd hope to get some cool pictures that could give an illusion that the train is moving.
6. To get there, first I would have to find where an abandon train would be. I would need a camera and a vehicle to get me there. The train might be on private property, so I might have to ask permission to go on that land.

Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique

1. I had a really hard time finding a picture for framing. I honestly don't think that I got a good framing picture.
2. I thought most about the focus and I used the half press technique a lot to change my focus.
3. I would find a more simple setting for my simplicity picture, and i would also continue to look for some better ways to frame.
4. I would continue to try to always follow the rule of thirds and keep my subjects out of the middle of the frame.
5. The easiest rule to achieve for me is the rule of thirds because pretty much all you have to do is put your subject on one of the sides of the picture and there you go.
6. The hardest rule for me is still framing because it is hard to find things that fame your subject.
7. I know all of the rules pretty well, but framing is just hard to do sometimes. A way to get better is to look at more examples.

I like the lines picture because it is very simple and the lines easily lead me to the subject.
I also like simplicity photo because there is nothing distracting me from the subject.

i was a little confused because she has one rule labeled as "third person", but i realized that that should have been rule of thirds.
